Finding the right product for your problem can be hard. Take a one-minute quiz, get a personalized product recommendation, and 15% off your first purchase.
Osteopath Oren Landa, and Clinical Herbalist Boaz Lehman sit down to answer the questions everyone keeps asking us about CBD, THC, pain, sleep anxiety and more
CBD is short for cannabidiol – the second most abundant and non-psychoactive cannabinoid next to the more familiar THC
The analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect occurs through various receptors (CB1 and CB2 receptors), which absorb the molecules of CBD. As an exogenous cannabinoid have a controlling effect on the body’s own functions and can complement and enhance them.
Since taking CBD is a very personal experience, there is no “right” product to choose from. The truth is, you may even have to experiment a bit before you find the perfect solution for yourself. However, to help ease the agony of choice a bit, we’ve created a product recommending quiz for you. Click here to go to the quiz
Both THC and CBD are plant derived cannabinoids. However, THC is a psychoactive cannabinoid which can make you high whereas CBD is not. While THC affects the CB1 cannabinoid receptor, CBD only affects the CB2 receptor in order to bring out your body’s naturally occurring endocannabinoids. Hemp contains high quantities of CBD and negligible amounts of THC. Hemp is thus legal in most places and Marijuana (high THC Cannabis) is illegal in most countries.
The body’s CB1 and CB2 receptors are located everywhere in the body: among others, the heart, liver, skin, brain or bones have these receptors. The effects vary depending on the region. In the brain, for example, CBD has been shown to help with anxiety, depression and pain. The presence of CBD in the gut helps fight inflammation and promotes intestinal activity. In the central nervous system (CNS), however, CBD focuses holistically on pain relief. The list is long and, through intensive research, is getting longer.
Sorry, CBD will not get you “high”. It can help you feel more relaxed, experience less pain, and feel more comfortable in your own skin. To read more about how CBD can help, check out our article about the benefits of CBD here
